Disneyland Paris

So as I recently returned from a trip from dlp I thought I'd make a blog post all about it sharing my tips and hints. This was my first trip to dlp and I was in awe at how beautiful it was. I was actually told beforehand how 'run down' it was so I had low expectations but was immediately proved wrong. Of course I feel it needs some work to be up to standard with the other Disney parks around the world but nonetheless it was beautiful!

How we booked it.
We actually booked our whole trip through travel republic and we got the whole holiday, including flights, transfers, hotel and park tickets for around £300 which is pretty good for 4 nights. We traveled to Beauvais airport rather than Charles de Gaul which saved us money. We stayed at the Kyriad hotel which despite bad reviews on trip adviser which really good for the price and you really don't spend that much time in the room anyway. As this isn't a Disney hotel you don't get extra magic hours however if you don't book your park tickets and buy an annual pass when you're there it works out the same price for 4 days and you will get the emh so that is something definitely worth looking into.

Day 1.

The flight to Beauvais airport was pretty good, it took around an hour and 20 minutes. The airport however was tiny so if you do ever fly to or from there be prepared. Our transfer then took about 2 hours but we finally got to our hotel at around 4 O'Clock.

We got changed and headed straight to the park via the hotel bus system which literally takes 5 minutes. The very first thing I did was head to the World of Disney and bought myself Minnie Ears and and my photopass then went straight into the Disneyland park and walking in I think I shed a tear with excitement because I was so in awe of the place. Walking down Main Street is my favourite thing to do, over any ride or attraction I love just strolling down towards the castle. A very kind woman then gave us her fast pass tickets for Big Thunder Mountain, so in the mean time we explored the castle a bit then took a ride on Space Mountain as there was only a 15 minute queue - it turned out to be my favourite ride EVER.

We then went on Big Thunder Mountain and Indiana Jones, and explored Adventureland and Frontierland - AMAZING. We then headed out to Mcdonalds in the Disney Village. After this we went back in the Park and caught some of Dreams, however we were far back and we more watching it through peoples cameras. Leaving the park is a bit of a nightmare due to prams ect but if you walk down Liberty Arcade it’s not as bad, getting the bus home however is awful so I would wait it out and look in some shops on main street or grab a drink in the Disney Village.

Day 2

After a good nights sleep we went to the Disneyland Park again and I screamed with excitement as when you walk in there are characters there straight away and Mickey and Minnie were there together so we got in the queue. We were told that Mickey leaves at 11am but didn't think we'd wait that long (we did and Mickey left just before we got to the front) but still it was amazing to meet Minnie - she loved our ears and we got a selfie.

After that we went to Adventureland and met Rafki from the Lion King (one of my favourite movies EVER). He held up my teddy Simba and everyone sung the circle of life - it was a pretty special moment. We then eat in the Hakuna Matata restaurant (sensing a theme here) which was probably one of my favourite quick service meals. After that we got some ice cream and queued for the parade which was AMAZING. Seriously I loved it so so much!

We then done space mountain again then went to the Disney Village and got take away pizzas and chicken nuggets then sat on a bench behind the grass verge and waited for dreams for about 2 hours, which sounds a lot but after a full day of walking it was nice to just sit down and eat, also in the mean time Anna and Elsa drove past for the Royal Welcome which was very exciting! We then watched Dreams from an amazing spot!

Day 3

Now Day 3 was the most stressful but definitely my favourite! We started off with Breakfast with Mickey, an amazing experience! (however if  you go request to be sat in the main part as it was very bright were we sat)

Then we entered the park and I RAN to the princess pavillion as meeting a princess was number 1 on my list of things I wanted to do. However, as we didn't have extra magic hours the queue was already huge and we were told there was a very slim chance of us getting a ticket but I decided to wait anyway because it was worth the chance. To cut a very long (and stressful) story short we did get one (just) and were told to return at 2:45 and we were not to know which princess was in there or choose who we could meet. We then headed to the other park and met Daisy Duck, went on Rocking Roller Coaster (amazing) and Crushes Coaster (also amazing) and a few rides in the Toy Story area before heading back to the Disneyland park to meet our princess!

So we headed to the princess pavillion and of course the princess I wanted to be in there was Belle, she is without a doubt my favourite but I didn't put any hopes on it UNTIL she walked in right in front of us and she was beautiful! But even so I didn't get my hopes up. We then entered and queued some more, it was taking FOREVER and after about an hour the lights started playing up and we were told our time with the princesses was delayed. Eventually however it carried on and we got to the front were there are 2 rooms and they direct you to one, the man who told us where to go (as I had my beauty and the beast phone case on show, subtle)  told us that 'it was a good day for princesses' and I was so nervous! We finally entered the room and it was no other than Belle! I screamed very loudly and ran and hugged her and was showing her face on my shoes and my t-shirt, I couldn't string a sentence together as stupid as it sounds, it was actually my hero standing in front of me! Her attendant was also very lovely and went to get us tissues as yes - I did cry! Belle made a real effort with us and it was the highlight of my whole trip, I'll never forget the moment.

After this we did a few rides in Fantasyland but actually headed out the park and went to the shopping center for our dinner and an early night!

Day 4

Our last day. We went straight for the Studios park and met Buzz Lightyear and did Tower of Terror (I actually chickened out). We then did Ratatouille, definitely get a fast pass for this as it is good but not worth a 70 minute wait! After this we did some shopping (check my last post for what I bought) and queued for the parade directly opposite the entrance - a great spot if you don't mind not being in front of the castle! The parade was another highlight for me - so much interaction from everyone! Flynn Rider smouldered at me and Rapunzel told me she liked my crown and I was showing her my Rapunzel Minnie Mouse - she loved it! Then the Queen of Hearts took her off me and Timon blew me lots of kisses it was amazing!

After the parade we did some rides like Buzz Lightyear, Space Mountain and Indiana Jones and met Alice in Wonderland characters who were really fun! We then actually went to get pizza again and sat directly in front of the castle with no one in front of us for dreams. It was one of the best experiences ever to see it so close up and actually get wet from the water! I didn't take any pictures myself as I just wanted to enjoy it - I actually even cried (no surprise). Then it was time to leave, probably the hardest thing to do is turn your back away from the Castle. As we left people were waving goodbye with Mickey gloves which made me even more emotional. Disneyland is honestly the most magical place and I had the most magical time.

If you got to the end of this blog post thank you so much for reading! If you have any questions about dlp please ask! Honestly I had an amazing time and have missed it every day since being home!
